STYLE ADVICE
- Could you give three evening dress codes do’s and don’ts ?
Never wear a novelty tie, bow tie or cummerbund; always polish your shoes – and never miss the edge of the soles, nothing looks scruffier than scuffs; Iron your shirt (arms, back and all). It sounds obvious, but you’d be amazed by how many people fail at this most simple of tasks.
- What is your personal tip ?
With evening wear always opt for midnight blue over black – black suits tend to fade to green over time, whereas midnight blue will always look elegant.
- Which New Retro would you wear and with what ?
Rose gold on black strap – I love this model
PLACES
- Which are your three favourite cocktail bars (in your city) ?
I love Lounge Bohemia in East London – the cocktails are crazy and you can only get in by booking in advance. For something a little more refined I love the bar at The Connaught, the martinis are second to none. The Blind Pig in Soho is very near to my office and is great for a post-work negroni and some delicious Chiparones.
- Which are your three favourite cocktail bars (worldwide) ?
Schillers in Downtown New York is great – you couldn’t be anywhere else in the world but The Big Apple when you’re in Schillers. There’s a little bar in Chueca in Madrid which I can’t remember the name of, but they do a mean (and very strong) gin & tonic. It’s very near the metro station. Nothing beats Harry’s bar in Florence – the one in Venice isn’t half bad either.
